Somehow Eggs + Bunnies + Jesus = Easter

Not so sure how the Easter bunny that hops around leaving eggs which shouldn't it be a chicken that leaves eggs and not a bunny) has anything to do with Easter. (maybe in all my spare time I can look it up) Anyway, Easter was great. Hayden and Landon went to Aunt Jilly's house so thaJeff and I could not only attend church but could actually take away something from it and worship. It was a great service. Hayden participated in his fair share of Easter egg hunts this year and is quite the pro. Our first hunt was at our friend, Aidan's, school. They had breakfast and activities which was followed up by the hunt. Thousands of kids made a mad dash for the brightly colored plastic filled with sweet treats. Hayden and Aidan had such a good time that the Easter bunny made another stop at Aidan's house and they got to have a private hunt just the two of them. every time Hayden would pick up an egg he would shake it and say "sumpthin is in this one". Every time. Then Dee and Paw paw had the Easter bunny stop by there house the next day. It was cool and rainy so he came and left the eggs inside while we were busy opening Easter gifts. (Thanks De de and Pawpaw for the clothes!) Hayden and Addison got to collect the eggs. Andrea warned us that Addison hadn't had much practice with hunting but boy was she smart. She would pick up the eggs and put them in Hayden's bucket as would he. So all the eggs are in his bucket. He would shake them and say 'Sumpthin is in this one" and open it up and out would fall a quarter on the floor. Hayden's face would grow long and disappointment sat in. He would sadly so "no candies" and move on to the next egg. Shake it. '"sumpthin in this one", open it, quarter falls to the floor, "no candies" and repeat twelve times. Addison, smart girl she is, picked up all twelve quarters leaving Hayden doing all the work in desperate search of candies. Good to know he didn't like coins because the bunny was planning on leaving some at our house in lieu of candies. Easter morning, Hayden just about caught that bunny dropping the plastic eggs in his room leaving a trail to his bucket. Next year the bunny will need to come during the night instead of wake up time. He ran down the hall collecting the eggs, you guessed it.... shaking them and excitedly announcing that there was something in the eggs. He found his bucket filled with a marshmallow sucker, tub of cotton candy, hollow Easter bunny and eggs filled with 1-2 cookies from a 100 calorie packet of fudge striped cookies. He also was left a Disney tub full of Disney bingo, fishing, dominoes and tic tac toe. Hayden helped Landon open his eggs that had pennies in them and a yellow stuffed bunny that looked just like the yellow stuffed bunny that Hayden got his first Easter that disappeared until this Easter morning. We then headed to Grandma Hamilton's and had yet another Easter egg hunt. Mom let Hayden start early being fearful that he and Caleb may not collect many amidst the older kids but off he went and had his bucket half full before Aunt Angela and others starting yelling for her to let the other kids out of the house before he had cleaned up the entire yard. Master Egg hunter collected quite a bit of candy that magically disappeared in the same way it magically appeared.... by the Easter bunny or his helper .... wink ;) wink ;)

I love, love your sling! It looks comfy, nothing better than packing a baby in a sling. Is it an Ellaroo?
Don't waste your time researching the whole Easter bunny laying eggs, there really isn't any story behind it. All I could find was that it somehow evolved out of bunnies and eggs representing fertility and being signs of spring. Weird, I really wish there was some sensible explanation!
Glad you had a great Easter, looks like fun.
