Art Sparks

Thanks to Aunt Kellie we discovered a new place to frequent on our weekly outing. It seems Erin and I have gotten into a routine of taking our 4 boys out once a week. Kellie had given me a coupon for admission to Art Sparks in the Speed Art Museum. Having no expectations we were pleasantly surprised. After a lunch at McAllisters, we took off on what was supposed to be a 25 minute drive to downtown which turned into nearly an hour search. A GPS that was malfunctioning, having us drive in circles past the same McDonalds three times, an automated phone recording telling us to turn on a street that doesn't exist. We drove on the same streets numerous times but alas we found it. Having the place nearly to ourselves, minus three other kids, we were able to scope out the place at our leisure. From an 18th century kitchen to a sailboat to tee pees and an art studio there was something for everyone. Even Landon had fun as a fellow museum goer, Emily, age 2, held his hand and oohed and ahhed over him. Hayden and Aidan mopped floors, sailed the high seas, took a stab at playing Picasso and even hula hooped with colorful images reflected on a jumbo screen. I definitely think this is a place we will revisit.
